The Yellow Canoe Café has been in business for over 20 years. Current owner, Laurie Brown took over the business from Danielle Moizer in May 2021. The Cafe aims to maintain the atmosphere and menu that Danielle developed but will also add items that Laurie has developed over the years from working in the food industry and raising 3 kids.

The Yellow Canoe Café strives to offer its guests a unique experience promoting local producers, businesses and artists. In our kitchen we use seasonal and locally sourced fruits, vegetables and herbs when available. The menu offers a selection of: sandwiches, all of which are served on homemade focaccia bread, salads with fresh greens, fresh soups and desserts, which are all prepared in-house from scratch. We accommodate most dietary restrictions and feature gluten-free* options. Our wine and beer selection also features VQA Ontario wine and Ontario beers. Some of our new local suppliers include Fluid Solar Roasted Coffee, Tea by G, and Perth Brewery. (* we are not a gluten free environment but have items that are not made with wheat).

The interior dining room features paintings, photos and artwork by local artists, including Mary Loos. During the summer months, the restaurant features a lovely garden patio overlooking the Merrickville blockhouse and historic locks on the Rideau Canal.
